Hello,

Although Travel Supreme cancelled out of the FMCA at Pomona a local dealer brought in 4 coaches. There was a 2008 Select Limited with an MSRP of $714 discounted to $550 and I was told I could have it for $510. No factory warranty but extended 3rd party. There was a 2007 Select Limited for $460, probably would go for $400. I absolutely believe that they were better coaches, by far, than the Monacos I looked at and the Newmars....both $100k more...just my opinion.

You're right IMHO, about the quality being better. As for pricing, I would think they should sell those babies for about 30-35% off retail, considering there is no warranty.

Some dealers seem to believe that TS will sell anyway...I was talking to a dealer in SC and I asked about 40% off and have not heard a thing since...With no warranty and buying an orphan right off....I guess they think that someone will pick them up...The problem is even if they are picked up...will they buy only the assets of and not the liabilities of the old TS and those people are out in the cold......

Thor has Mandalay as a luxury division so they would have to consolidate...Forest River I heard was talking to them but that's about it. I feel for the people.

The Mandalay is a for cry from what Travel Supreme has been building, so about any coach builder could "step up" their product line by buying them. Problem is, who needs to take on more capacity at a time when most builders are cutting back? Gotta have a lot of excess cash and faith that the RV market will turn around.

I don't know if I would agree with your statement about being a better coach than Monaco, I looked at a TS (2007 Select model) and I put my thumb thru the bottom of an overhead cabinet. Seems they use paneling instead of using solid wood, anyway, I bought the Dynasty instead, love the wood work. I think the TS Select has plenty of "eye candy" but for 650K I expect solid wood cabinets...JMHO.

WOW!, CB. You ARE tough. I think Walt was referring in a more general nature to his perception of overall quality vs price paid. Cabinet construction might be only ONE of those aspects.....I submit there may be more.

No foul...Just putting in my .02 worth. I looked at the TS Select model and to be honest I liked some of their floor plans, love the fireplace, but to state that TS builds a better motor home then Monaco, or Newmar is a stretch. I have found that Monaco has given me the most bang for the buck and I've been happy so far with the factory service. Again just my .02 worth.
