I spoke with a TS vendor today and asked the question of him. He said he thought they just needed to get some lines of credit re-organized, etc. and didn't forsee any real concern. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best come Monday.

Well if anyone is at the factory...or going there soon... or can get through to an actual parts or service person on Monday...I need some help.
The shop fixing my RV, Almaden RV in San Jose, CA has 2 basement doors for my 2006 40DS04 on order on their PO 13159 that were supposed to ship every week for the last 4 weeks. The shop has been talking to Mike and Jacob. If anyone can find out the status of these parts I would really appreciate the info.

Thanks..............................WALT

Walt, Mike works for Jacob, so I'd personally call Jacob and directly ask him the status. He's a good guy and will answer you. Only problem is, I don't know how much they are talking right now. You may wish to wait 'till Monday to see how this thing plays out. But call Friday if you really can't wait....prob. no harm.

I am trying to get a replacement part from the parts dept. and haven't got a live person yet. Under normal times they are a SLOW dept.

Hope Monday is a good day for TS.

Bob, Jersey,

Thanks for the replies.

Actually we are having the same problem....can't get through to a live person. We get a receptionist and transferred but only get voice mail when transferred. I actually got an email response from John Torres and he told me to call Don Burbaker but same problem.

Thanks... WALT

Walt, understand your frustration but really thhis is no difference from business as usual. Don is always very hard to get through to (and from being at the factory for 2 weeks last fall I know he does not spend much time in his office). All this does indeed not sound good but we will see what happens on Monday. Hoping for the best, still think they make the best 5er on the planet (we have had a lot of different brands) and really hope they are back in production next week. These fuel prices and the weak economy is making it tough on the whole industry but maybe a white knight will come out of the woodwork to save this great brand. just my 2 cents. Gene

Ann n Gene, Let me understand you, you think this is business as usual?? TS comes into the office on Wednesday and sends everyone home with no explanation, rumors around the industry and forums start only because TS offers no explanation for its actions. I have a friend who beleives Chapter 11 is coming and they closed for inventory which is part of the process. Monday will bring some answers if they do in fact open. My guess...say goodbye. Its truely a shame.

TS would be an EXCELLENT opportunity for another successful company to take over, organize it and be very successful. TS has the nicest MH out the on the market for the price.. Hands DOWN!!!

I have read with great interest all the posts about the quality and service from current RV companies. It's underwhelming to now see so many concerned about the future of them in spite of they inferior customer service. I hate to see what happens to employees and owners but this is what recession is all about. Maybe Toyota will step in and help.

Steve, NO NO NO did not mean the way I guess it came out. Helter-skelter IS the norm at T.S. and Don is always hard to get ahold of as he is out of his office most of the time. I EXPECT chapter 11 to be coming also and it is a shame. My opinion, they have the best 5er on the market, no comparison, especially now that Teton has brought in a CEO from a low end company to step up production and lighten up the trailers. As far as customer service, Travel Supreme is unsurpassed in the industry for going the extra mile to solve problems for customers. Our trailer is an 03 model and they welcomed us with open arms at the factory service center and bent over backwards to put our trailer in tip top shape. We even had a large slide (20ft) leaking and it had to come out to be fixed. They did not have the ability to fix it at the service center(could not take that big of a slide out) so they scheduled it on the production line where they took it out and rebuilt it and put it back in. Not many manufactures would do that on a 4 year old trailer. Sorry to ramble but we feel strongly about the quality of our Travel Supreme and the willingness of the service center people at the factory to deliver customer satisfaction. just my 2 cents. Gene

Yes, Gene's right. unsurpassed customer service, in spite of how long it sometimes takes. Big Grin But we owners are trained to persevere a bit, knowing when our time comes we'll be taken care of a leave the shop as happy campers.

I still don't know what to make of this. But I am getting a little more pessimistic each day over the developments. This is just too weird for me. Even if this outfit survives, I expect to see them emerge a very different company. They have sold products under market value for years-maybe the chickens have come home to roost and prices will have to be increased and ops. will tighten up. Perhaps no more freebies like they sometimes do? Perhaps the best we might hope is that some white knight will come in and rescue the brand name.

Having said all this....I hope I am DEAD WRONG!

If they do go under, one has to wonder what will happen to our re-sale values. I suspect they will take a huge dive.

Once again, my timing is impeccable, I bought a TS one week before they go bankrupt. Someone please shoot me.

Jetjam, don't abandon all hope.

TS hasn't gone under yet.

In the past, orphan RVs of TS's quality have not taken a large hit in value.

My 2 cents....

I too believe that chapt 11, and hoping not bankruptcy,is a logical conclusion from what has been going on. However, I could make a good case for a takeover or partnership coming in with cash because of the suddeness and lack of announcements or outdide knowledge. In any case, I too am a recent TS purchaser and do not believe that there is any logical reason for greater than normal depreciation. The chassis people are still in business and none of the coach systems are unique to TS. I only worry about things like skin and windshields. All of my research indicated that they produced a superior coach and the only problem I have had is with the driver..me.

Monday will tell.....

Thanks.......WALT
