For those with a Silver Streak trailer with the cast aluminum hinges and the plug door there is an on going project to supply replacement hinges in stainless steel. The original 8 rivet cast aluminum hinge is the weak point on these trailers and once they break there are no more hinges available.
One of the Silver Streak owners has found a hinge shop that will build a duplicate hinge in stainless steel on a one time production run. There is no profit being made on the hinges. This is just an effort to keep some beautiful old trailers on the road. You can check out the site for information specific to the Silver Streak trailers at HERE.
