Took out my batteries and removed the solonoid behind the battery rack to clean terminals. Had wiretied the connections, but when I went to reinstall the soloniod all the wires were mixed. Cannot find a wiring diagram to tell me which wire goes where. Help!

Is it the solenoid that combines all of the batteries?
If so the big wires go on the fat lugs and the small wire/s activate the unit as the dash board switch is pressed.. Jim |

If you have a Class C, then you can buy one of those Chilton-type manuals for the "cab/chassis" part of the RV. This is what we have found for our situation.

if this is the solenoid that runs to the battery you all of the larger rings go on the same side as the battery side. only one should be on the other side to the starter due to only getting power when the key is turned to the start side. I could help more if I knew what you had. chassis make and year would help a lot. also is it a class A or C?

I have a 1986 Winnebago Sunflyer Class A 27 foot (27RU). I e-mailed Winnebago and they were kind enough to forward the wiring diagram showing the proper lines to the solenoid. I purchased a new solenoid and reinstalled the wiring. Now the starter will not kick in. Batteries are fully charges (both house and vehicle). When I turn the key I get the old click, click like a low voltage.I removed the starter and checked the solenoid mounted on the starter, all was good for a 22 year old unit. I have the unit for sale (actually have an offer on it) but cannot sell it in this condition. I think one of the prospective buyers may have run the generator with the duel battery switch in the on position. I just do not know where to look for the problem fix.
Thanks in advance for any ideas. Dan S Are we there yet? |

Thank You to all who responded to my request for help. Problem solved. Bad ground wire from the engine to the chassis. A new starter, two of three solenoids and a new ground strap, priceless!
thanks Again, Dan S Are we there yet? |
