We bought the Camping World Presidents Club NASCAR California Speedway package of camping at the track, tickets and meet and greet. We checked yesterday on everything before moving to the track and found out that dogs weren't allowed. We then made arrangements to stay where we are at (Fairplex KOA Pomona) and went over to register and get our tickets. Got there and verified that dogs weren't allowed and that was true. However, there were dogs being walked. We will park our car there and take the shuttle. We would have been better off just camping at the KOA and getting our own tickets. We would be about $300 ahead.

Went to the race on Saturday. The truck race started on time and there weren't any problems. Drizzled in between races, so they brought out the jet dryers. The race was scheduled to start at 4:00 PM. At 5:45 PM it rained. There wasn't time to dry for a race that day so everyone started leaving. It was cold, windy and wet and the shuttles that were running every 10 minutes when it was nice hadn't been there in over an hour. Finally a nice girl with a 4 seat golf cart gave us a ride to RV parking. We wouldn't go with the Presidents's Club package again.

Unfortunately California (Now Auto Club) is the worst run track in the circuit. Even though I live 40 miles from the track, I refuse to go anymore. Vegas and Phoenix are very RV friendly and a total blast WITH DOGS!

Won't go to the California Race. Heard too many horror stories.... We attend The Races at Phoenix each year. Just bought our tickets yesterday. We camp (boondock) right at the track for the whole week (Monday to Monday) the cost is (I believe) $160. Cheap by any standards. We have two black Labs and are really careful to clean up after them. But I dis-agree with the statement that Vegas is a fun track. We have been there twice. First time we stayed on the Strip and rode the CAT Bus to the Track. Big mistake. Second time was after the Track was re-paved and banked. Big mistake. Our reserved seats were in Row 26, on Turns 3 and 4. The banking is so severe that we could not see the turns from our seats. The big TV screen in front of us was turned towards the Red Bull seating section, so we could not see it. The timing tower, with the running order listed on it by number, was in the Sun, so we could not make it out, either. Once, during the Busch Series Race, there was a crash right in front of us, we saw the tire smoke, and heard the crash, but we had to wait until the cars spun out of Turn 4 to see who was involved--a distance of a city block. The Vegas Track sits on 17,000 acres of land. The Hollywood RV Campground, where we had our Newmar parked, was over an hours' walk from the Grandstands, I estimate 4 1/2 miles. The Vegas Track is staffed by volunteers and Managed by a different outfit that at Phoenix. No one knows anything and could not even tell us when and if the Shuttle Buses were running. They use ex-school Buses at Vegas for shuttles and actually have a "Shuttle Graveyard" where the dead ones are stored, we watched it fill up. Finally, after about 3 days, we figured out that to find someone who knew something, you must ask a worker carrying a radio. There were very few Sani-cans near our campsite and they became gross in a short period of time, stark contrast to Phoenix, where near our Campsite there are at least twenty and they get sanitized daily in the mornings. At Phoenix, we even get a fresh Newspaper delivered each morning during Coffee!! With today's fuel prices, and if you can afford to attend but one NASCAR Race, living on the Left Coast, Phoenix is the Track to Attend. The Fall Race... This message has been edited.
