Michael::

I await your photos. Our 02 Bounder had an inexpensive but good sounding Panasonic. I bet the speakers are $3.00 units as well. I see no reason the speakers cannot be replced with something decent. I was at the FMCA Rally today and I walked through a bunch of DP's to see what they are using. Many had a nice looking Jensen unit but it is 1.8 DIN. Ours is 1.5. I think you can get a face plate that will allow a 1 din to be installed in the 1.5 din hole

I replaced my Magnadyne Radio/CD/DVD with a single (1) din Pioneer Radio/CD and a .5 din Audio Vox DVD player. They fit almost perfectly in the 1.5 din hole the Magnadyne came out of. Great sound quality and with XM Radio too.

Ok Moisheh, here goes.. As you can see here is the Sony InDash CD/Radio W Bluetooth, we put a CD Storage above to take the 1/2 Din that was left.

We mounted the box speakers on the floor left of the steering column, no problem while driving, and under dash just as you enter the coach.

To replace the Magnadyne's DVD capability, Installed a Sony Home Theatre system into a Custom Cherry Cabinet (Thanks Sean, at Davis Cabinets, Junction City, OR)

Hope this helps Moisheh, Circuit City did the install of the Sony Radio and Speakers in Eugene, OR and the Sony Home Theatre System was purchased at Best Buy.

We have done a number of other upgrades to our Scepter and will be posting them later this week on the upgrades page...

Michael

I didn't change the speakers. The original ones sounded fine, I just never could get the Magnedyne CD/DVD player to work properly. That and the design and functionality with the remote was poorly done.

Michael,

Great idea. I especially like your custom cabinet for the Sony Home Theatre System.

Howard, Your mod sound like a good one also. Can you post a picture?

Michael,
Nice looking system and monitor friendly with the HDMI video on both your receiver and DVD player. Good idea with the box speakers too.
I also recently chucked the RCA brick and replaced it with a Sony Home theater receiver that had HDMI video switching as well as component or composite video. The replacement DVD player also has HDMI as does the LCD TV. Most indash DVD players only have composite video and, at best, component video. HDMI is a much better way to go and most of the newer LCD TV's now include HDMI. Anyone replacing the Madnadyne radio/DVD need to make sure the video out is not just composite video. Composite video is only VCR resolution (350 lines of resolution). Make sure it has at least component video and can upscale to match your LCD. If not you will only see 480 lines instead on your 1080i/p LCD TV. Some of the better TV's can scale component video from a DVD player to 1080 as well.

thanks for the kudos Mark, we really enjoy the bluetooth when we are on the road and parked. We can be in our living room watching TV and when we get a phone call we are able to have a pretty decent speaker phone for the front end of the coach. Makes it nice talking to the kids and family.

We really noticed a difference when we changed out the woofer under the dining table, Sony's passive does a real nice job. What a difference from the Magnadyne,, NO skips.. LOL.

Michael,
Thanks for the tip on the Sony sub. I have the original RCA and have been looking for a replacement to fit in the same space.
