I have a 2004 Gulfstream sunvoyager, model 8379.
A problem that I have is the windshield on the passenger side does not fit properly. I had a whistling noise and found that there was a gap between the edge of the windshield and the rubber molding that holds the windshield in place. Several times now I have had to take the inside trim off on the passenger side along the edge and move the rubber in order to close up the gap. I then put some adhesive along the edge of the glass. But after several months of use it moves again and once again there is the gap. It almost appears that the opening is cut too large for the windshield. Either that or maybe the windshield is installed wrong.
Has any others had this problem and if so what did you do to elimate it?
Today I also installed gutter along the top of the windshield and the side windows to stop the grey streaks that appear on the glass every time it rains. I am hoping this will work.

We had a problem with our windshield on the driver's side that the windshield was moving out and pulling the rubber seal with it in 2006 on our way to Florida.

I called Gulf Stream service and they told me that the wrong locking rubber insert was installed in the rubber seal for the windshield, They gave me the part number to have our dealer order the correct seal. I explained it all to the dealer and they said Gulf Stream didn't know what they were talking about, so they had a glass shop reset the windshield.

Well, forty miles later the windshield was out of place again!!!

I called Gulf Stream and told them what happened. Since we were going to the Gulf Streamers Back Home Rally, Gulf Stream decided that they would have their service techs take care of replacing the locking strip with the larger correct one at the rally and reset the windshield.

Since that was done in June 2006, we haven't had any more problem.

Uncle Sam... I wonder if this could be caused by raising and lowering the jacks putting stress on the windshield frame. As it seems to be a continuing problem even after you have sealed it several times.
I haven't noticed this issue with mine yet. I try to level the coach front to back first, then side to side. Just a thought!

STeamerman I am think it could be that also, or maybe hitting large bumps. When I put the jacks down I lower all of them together until they all hit , then I look at my bubble and adjust from there. It is a fustrating thing for I have had to make the repair three times now. If the rubber that the glass fits into was a little wider it would also do the fix. I have though of asking a glass repair man what the fix would be. Being that my MH is out of warrenty I guess I will probably be stuck with this problem as long as I have the unit. This has been a problem since I first got the MH and since I bought it second hand with 2500 miles on it gulfstream would do nothing for me except give me lip service.

It sounds like a fiberglass repair person might be able to build up that area some to make a tighter fit.

I had Turning Wheel in Ocala replace one of my front glass due to a rock thrown by an 18 wheeler.
They did a good job and no leaks. They kept it for a couple of days to ensure the sealer worked.
You might give them a call and see what they recommend. I have worked with Armando and he really knows motor homes. They may even have a fiberglass guy there as they do body work and painting too.

We have seen this problem before on rubber sets, it could be that the body of your RV has shifted.. this actually happens more than you would care to know. You windshield is a critical part of your roof crush in your vehicle and in the event of an accident could be deadly. I would have this looked at immediately before taking any more trips. Your saftey and the saftey of other could be hindered from a faulty windshield. Take it to a RV dealer and have them inspect it.

Update- Went to pull into the side drive to put the MH away and when I turned off the street I heard a crack. Drivers windshield cracked across the top on the left side. Called Progressive and they sent glass co to replace the windshield. they had to reset both sides, said it was never installed correct and did not have enough sealer . I have not used since it was installed so hoping it will be OK now.
