Gulf Stream Debuts SuperMax 'C' RV Business Monday, June 9, 2008
Gulf Stream Coach Inc. introduced its 2009 SuperMax Class C motorhome on a new 19,500-pound GVWR Sterling cutaway truck chassis from Daimler Trucks North America LLC, Redford Township, Mich., during its annual dealer meeting June 2-7 at the company's sprawling Nappanee, Ind., manufacturing campus. Also at the meeting, Gulf Stream showed a new gas-powered Caribbean Class A motorhome, the name of which the company purchased during an auction of assets of bankrupt National RV Inc. The new SuperMax, equipped with a Cummins ISL diesel engine that the company says will get 14 mpg, is available in three double-slideout floorplans in 31- to 34-foot lengths. The coach is designed with an oversized cabover loft that Gulf Stream intends to make standard in all of its minimotorhomes. "It;s a true loft rather than just an overhead bunk," said Dean Crane, Gulf Stream director of public relations and training. "This replaces the traditional 'Super C' that we had before." Standard with maple cabinet doors with hardwood stiles, electric awnings, a booth dinette and 7,500-pound hitch, the Sterling-based SuperMax carries a base MSRP of $95,000.
This is the first I have heard of the "SuperMax C". This is the middle of July, I have not seen any other information. (It has the Cummins ISL engine, that is a big engine?"
