Well today here is Florida it was beautiful, so I decided to wash the motor home. I pulled it from the pad where I store it and moved it too my driveway and washed it. Well when I moved it back to the side yard where it sets under cover I heard a crack when I turned off the street, it was a hard right turn. When I got to the pad and was lining it up so I didn't hit the posts I noticed a crack in the drivers windshield. that is what the noise was when I turned off the street into the side yard. Yes there was a small bump but not nearly as large as some I have hit in my travels. Thank god I live in Fl where our windshield is covered. I have had trouble with the passanger side but not the drivers side. I wonder now if maybe the drivers side was too tight in the opening. Maybe that is what was causing the passenger side to be too loose in the opening. I have had to adjust the rubber around the windshield several times on the passanger side. I am hoping that it doesn't take too long to get it repaired, for we have a 6 day camping trip planned for Jan 23. I could probably take with the crack in the windshield but really don't want to.

What rotten luck. I think you're onto the source of the other sides problem though.

Yes certainly have had my share of bad luck here lately. Well I hope it get over soon. Talked to Progressice today and they are arranging to have a new window put in. I am going to talk to the repairman and see if he thinks maybe the other side needs an adjustment also. Now that this has happened I wonder if maybe the drivers side was installed too far in that direction and if so it would give the passenger side excess room for the glass to fit. any way it should not have happened. But if it had to happen I guess I was lucky it happened here at home and not on the road somewhere. I have heard of them cracking when the jacks were used and the frame was twisted.

Well the mechanic came today and installed the new windshield. I showed him the passenger side windshield, how it didn't fit into the rubber very good and he said that was what had caused the drivers side to crack. when the windshield was installed at the factory no sealant was put under the rubber and the windshield had moved and it caused a stress crack. He adjusted the passenger side and installed the new one on the drivers side and put sealant under the rubber all the way around the windshield both sides. Said it should never do that again. Well lets hope so. Boy I sure was glad to have insurance to cover the problem. NIce to live in Fl where the windshield is covered without any cost to you.

Great the problem was found and corrected. But ... Florida isn't the only full coverage for windshields ... that is a policy service.
