This is new this year. My camper is eight years old and has some freaky things happening with the taillights. Left turn works most of the time. Right turn on truck works left signal on trailer. Emergency flashers are intermittent.
Brakes are intermittent and weak. Bulbs are brand new. None of the parking lights will come on and all the bulbs are good.
I am lost. Please help.
P.S. I am weak on automotive electrical.

I would start by checking all ground connections.

Bad grounds are a common problem, and can cause strange problems.

Excellent advice. Any ideas how many ground connections there are and where they might be located? Possibly someone knows a website with wiring schematics.

When you look at your lights you will see there is only 1 wire for each, the ground is at the light on the trailer. I am not if you have screws or rivits at each. If its screws back them out and rescrew them to remove any build up it they are rivets I would replace them. You have another main ground where the bundle comes up on the trailer check that ground too. you may have a worn wie if the wrong light comes on and it is shorted check all connections and redo the seal and tape.

Hope that helps.

I have seen this problem several times. In my case it was always caused by a corroded ground connection in the trailer light plug (either on the trailer or the vehicle side). Clean it, or insert and remove it many times to see if the problem goes away.

I have found an easy way to check the ground system... use 1 lead of a jumper cable set...Frame {ground} on vehicle to frame of trailer..
