I'd like to humbly suggest that we find a cool place for the June rally. Georgia is hot; Texas is hotter, and Pennsylvania perhaps is a little cooler, but not much. Please give us Southerners an opportunity to go to a rally in a much cooler place, e.g. New England, Great Lakes, Canada, mountains anywhere just as long as the temperature doesn't get out of the 80s. How about it folks, some of us silver-haired "oldies" would like to get out of the heat. Assuming I'm still alive and kicking, I'm certain to be there.

Ahh, Minnesota is usually nice in June, along with the Mackinaw City area. We were in Mackinaw in June, and when the temps got into the 80's they thought it was the hottest summer in a long time. I don't want to be there in the winter time. Our Shasta owners club held their annual rally at Mackinaw City Campground (?) and it is a big place. Laugh

Oh, and I don't want to be rude or anything, but, you can have your "Southern Humidity" back south anytime you want it. These 70 degree dew points are a pisser up here. Party Big Grin

Thanks for your input. One thing to remember is we have members all across the country, and want to make it easy for folks to come. We are in Arizona, and any where is cooler for us. we have been to the Nashville and San Antonio rallies and I am sure the warmest it was was one day of 90 in Nashville all others were great and no one said it was hot at either.

Thanks again

We are currently involved in ongoing discussions regarding location of the '06 rally. Your suggestion is welcome and will be given due consideration.

One crucial element to holding a rally is to have someone willing to take on the task of being 'Wagonmaster', a job that requires a lot of managerial and organizational skills. A member wishing to be a 'Wagonmaster' would need to do some preliminary organizing of a potential rally, make some projections as to location, venues, pricing estimates, entertainment, attendance estimates, campground, etc. and submit it for consideration.

Again, thanks for your input, wherever the '06 is held I'm sure it'll be a great event.

Regards,
Richard

We went to a rally in Mi. the same time as the IRV2 National rally and the weather was great. Low 70's with a breeze, low humidity, and temps at night in the 50's and one night 40's! A campfire felt good. It was in the mid 90's here in NC and extremely humid! So a great place for a June rally! Just my two cents worth!

Linda,

Thanks for your input for a location for the 2006 National Rally, as posted previously we're currently involved in ongoing discussions regarding location of the '06 rally. Your suggestions are welcome and will be given due consideration.

You may want to consider signing up for the 2005 National Rally being held in Lancaster County, PA next year in June.

Richard

Think about the Black Hills of S. Dakota. Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and there are many campgounds in the area.
