We left Friday AM and drove to Mt. Vernon, Il. Got ready to leave Mt. Vernon Sat. AM and could not get my BR slide to stay in! I've recently replaced both the extend and retract solenoids (per HWH's suggestion) and thought we had the slide creep fixed. Diddled with the solenoid bleed valves and got it closed and made it to Huntington, WVA before it started really creeping out again. Stayed overnite near Huntington and drove home today with the slide intermittently creeping out as much as 6 - 8 inches; got funny looks from the folks at the toll booths on I-77. Stopped frequently to retract it. Oh well, the joys of owning an RV Confused.

We enjoyed our first rally and were happy to meet some wonderful folks. Safe travels to all.

We pulled in the driveway at 6:00 PM ET today. Total distance from ABC was 1080 miles. We did 480 today. It was a pleasant drive thru OH, WV and PA. We spenty a nice evening at the Dayton, OH KOA last nite. It is a VERY active campground.

Steve, our prayers are with you and Pat.

I for one agree with Steve - it would be nice to move rallies off the super hot months - there is a lot of beautiful country to see in the fall or spring. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion - I for one don't rule out rallies or support or participation in them if they are with or without kids - dogs - inlaws or other components - again - to each his own.

Kaye and I left the ABC about 10:30 am on saturday and went to Osage Beach MO. We are staying two nights then to Columbia MO to visit a cousin. From there we will head back to Seattle Wa going though Denver to see friends for a few days.

Bob- What a great job and great event. This was our first big trip and first rally. No disappointments for sure. I have been to presidents clubs etc but this was a good mix of people, activities and have met some great people I hope to call friends and hope to see down the rode. To the workhorse people, thanks for all the help and information. Ed- Thanks for everything and a great- informative time.

It was soo nice to meet some of the people we have been communicating with on line and to meet in person.

We felt welcome and thanks for a great time on our maiden voyage.

As Joe-K mentioned, we got home early this afternoon.
It was really good seeing everyone and I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves and made it home safely.

While I understand there are a good number of our members that would or could support a rally in the fall, we have made the decision long ago to have our National event in the months when school is out...We did for some reason matriculate later and later into the summer and we've made plans to move the date as far back into June as feasibly possible.

Bill Rowell and I have also discussed at great length the possibility or probability of having two National Rallies and there are several detracting factors with regard to pulling that one off....First of all, as I can personally attest to, there's a GREAT deal of planning that goes on to get one of these things done.
I worked with Michelle from ABC and the various vendors and entertainment providers for almost a year in advance to get everything done.
Then there's the demographics of suppoorting two rallies, as there's only so much money to go around with respect to sponsors and vendors.
Most folks know that rvupgrades sponsors our National HEAVILY with giveaways and product prizes and with respect to our other sponsor/vendor relationships, we'd be "going to the well" twice as much and asking for support.
Lastly, there's the issue of just who from iRV2 would actually be the wagonmaster for TWICE as many rallies....I became the wagonmaster for '07 by default, as there wasn't anyone that could agree on a location or someone to run it.
I stepped up, offered to do a Branson Rally and it happened....I might add that Sandy graciously agreed to do the '08 in Texas after some discussion behind the scenes that I would again do the '09.
She and Rusty are VERY busy with Texas Boomer stuff and some other issues and she GRACIOUSLY accepted this added responsibility...

I hope this can clear this up and we all can watch the forums for news regarding the fun we'll have in Texas.

We left Lebanon TN at 8 AM eastern and arived home at 11 PM on Sunday. It was a long hard 2 days, but all the fun we had was well worth the drive. We did not have any problems at all.
The only traffic problem was an accident on I-40 in Knoxville TN. A 18 wheeler went over an embankment and took down a road sign that hung over the road. It took about 20 min. to get through that.
Good night from Bill and Camilla 2 very tired travelers.

We got as far as Tupelo today doing the Elvis thing at Memphis and here, but may have a problem going further. About 25 miles from here Judy heard a boom and thought we had blown a tire. When we stopped to check it out, the rear was sitting too low. I couldn't see any obvious damage and no blown tires, but the rest of the ride here was rough. I mentioned it to the manager here at Barnes Crossing and he said his brother has an RV place near here and can take a look. I think the rear air suspension is blown.

Is it safe or reasonable to continue like that to get home? Is it something that can be repaired quickly, and cheaply? After two week in a motel in April we're in no mood to repeat that situation.

My mother is doing better with nothing definitive found. They are discussing sending her home tomorrow. We'll know more tomorrow.

David and Ute and Ann and I left ABC Saturday morning for Memphis to see Elvis. Got here early afternoon without fanfare. Visited with Elvis today and ventured down to Tunica where David and Ute nearly broke the casions! So. . . they are proceeding to Nashville tomorrow and back toward Stillwater and the grandson for us. Enjoyed the rally and meeting everyone. Safe travels to all. Gene and Ann. PS, we are at the Tom Sawyer RV park ON the banks of the Mississippi in west Memphis, it is below the first levy and a great place to camp and watch the barges go by just a few fee from the trailer. Long, shady pull throuhs, really a nice place if you are in this area or just want to drop in on Elvis.
