Hello everyone! Glenn's Mom is back at her assisted living home and doing pretty well, considering. She gave us all a scare. She is having some heart problems and was feeling dizzy and light headed so his sister took her to the hospital and they admitted her for tests, etc. She got to come home this Saturday. However, Friday, 7/25 was her 92nd birthday and we had a little party for her in her hospital room. She said she hopes that next year she won't be in the hospital when her birthday comes again!!

Looking forward to seeing all of you again. I have a few pictures on my camera from Perrin and I think Don Allen has some also - maybe he can put them on the site somewhere.

Thanks again for all your good wishes and see you soon.

Life may not be the party you were hoping for, but as long as you're here, you might as well dance!!

Bill and I got home today, 7/31/08, 3:30 EDT, and guess what he is mowing grass. After unloading the camper and doing the wash I suggested he wait a day. What a glutton for punishment.. Eeeek

The trip home was good, no problems just the heat and of course diesel prices. I have not added up the total yet BUT it was money well spent. WE HAD A GREAT TIME with a lot of GREAT PEOPLE.

The Hammetts are finally home. We had an hour 40 minute delay west of Baton Rouge for a truck fire. The truckers in the area were not too thrilled with the delay in opening the highway after the fire was out. Little Devil

We spent a couple days in Mobile, including a nice birthday gathering for Ken Birthday, before coming home Thur evening. We went through a couple of heavy storms north of Mobile and again just south of Atlanta, but we made it through. TV reported the Atlanta storms dropped 4-5 inches of rain. Also it was dark and there was highway construction. Fun.

Anyway, the kids are medicated, changed, and in bed. The old folks will follow shortly. Brush

It appears that all the "out of staters" have arrived home from their trip to Texas....now "mother hen" can rest easily knowing all the "chickadees" are safely home!

To those who came the distance, I send you the biggest and most sincerest thanks for coming. I fully realize the cost (time, distance and fuel prices)it took to get here and back home.

Each of you made it special!

Sandy

If everyone is like Ken (and me), we're experiencing deep depression - #1 because we're not on vacation this week and #2 because we're not out rv'ing with our friends!

About 20 of us who are going through the depressed stage are having an "afterglow" party tomorrow night at a restaurant off 290 here in the northwest Houston area...if any are so inclined to come back, we'd love to have ya!!!!

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I was home mid afternoon on Saturday. I had a super time, one of the most relaxing vacations I can ever remember. I sure didn't want to have to come back to work Monday. I keep thinking about all of my retired friends who didn't have to go back to work. Some day .....
