So I bit the bullet and put a Toshiba flat screen w/DVD in my '95 Vectra.
I must say with all the crash tests I have been witnessing at work I got pretty annal about the strength of the brackets. Then with my wife 'nit picking' I ended up getting pretty annal about the finish work. So it took me about 10 hours to complete. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures along the way. I can take some final pictures and give some advice if needed, let me know. I shaved about 2.5" off the front of the existing cabinet depth, got rid of about 30 pounds of weight, gained veiwing area and made my veiwing digital ready for the 2009 conversion. I took the 2 year extended warranty option (due to vibration in the coach) and in total it cost me about $620. My next 'entertainment' option will be a surround sound system. I am not sure how they sold these coaches with this terrible sound system, I will fix mine. Cheers, 1995 Vectra, F460, Banks, Blah, Blah, Blah |

We would be really interested to see a photo of the completed job if you are able. We are just in the process of fitting a Flat screen to our '95 Vectra - you may have some good tips for us.

(Oops, I forgot to subscribe to the thread.)
I used the 22", because it has the built in DVD. I think a 24" would have been fine, a 26" would be pushing it if you want proportions to stay correct. Don't mind the finger prints, my wife hasn't done her job yet. LOL 1995 Vectra, F460, Banks, Blah, Blah, Blah |
