Its a little hard to describe exactly but at very low speed with a hard wheel cut I can feel something in the steering that feels like something is slipping. The dealer initially said it needed to be greased but the problem didn't go away. After some persistence the owner of the dealership drove it and felt the same thing and he sent it to Freightliner. After a week of it just sitting at Freightliner the report back today from the dealer was Freightliner said that nothing is wrong just needed to be greased and driven more. Does that sound right to you guys? has anyone else felt anything like this in their steering? My gut says it doesn't sound right.
Any advise on this?

Some cars, etc sometimes have some pulsating in the power steering pump that can be felt in the steering wheel at low speed hard wheel cuts. It that perhaps what you are feeling???

Right around the end of the cut usually? I've had cars do that as well as my old ol' 84' Pace. I suspect it's some sort of bypass valving to keep from launching the piston.

There was a campaign for steering:gear box:shaft pitman where as on certain moho (1972 of them) with ZF model 8018 steering gears could be an assembly defect.

As I bought mine used how do you tell if mine is an affected coach?

The dealor says no open campaigns??

Call the Freightliner Service Center in Gaffney, SC at (864) 206-8613. Be ready to give them the last six digits of your chassis number.
