I completed the fuel filter relocation project this week for approximately $270 in parts only.
The pictures provided by Chris/cbeierl and Tom/tomsm were very helpful. One good brace to note is in the "top of the engine" picture provided by Chris. The rear steel fuel line needs to be supported once the fuel filter base is removed. I copied the brace made by his mechanic. I mounted the fuel filter in the upper right as Tom did. I used 8ft (2 pieces) of hose. I used the prime pump and the engine started right up. Now a fuel filter change will take 5 minutes and I will no longer need an hour to R&R the hatch and belongings under the bed. Give yourself a day for this project. Good luck.
