Here is a dumb question and I am sure I will get 100 diffreent answers. Besides my Class A, I have Jayco 5th wheel parked at a seasonal camp site. it has not moved in years, and I am the original owners. Lately the bathroom sink drains super slow, probably hair from the better half, same as at home (she denies it). What is the best to use down these plastic lines, one RV dealer said to use DRANO and another said NO WAY, but I was not sure with these plastic lines. I have even tried flushing with HOT water, still slow. Any good suggetions would be greatly appreciated.

If you really think it's hair plugging the sink drain, I'd pull and clean the p-trap before using any drain cleaners.

I'm sure with Rusty here - - no cleaners. Just takes a minute and a sore back to pull that puppy out and clean it. I even do that at home rather than cleaners. Who knows - - might find a diamond ring in there.

The plumbing will withstand drain cleaners**** however**** once used, and fail to work properly, you have created a hazardous mess for whoever actually has to clear the stoppage.

BTW, most plumbers will refuse to work on plumbing containing drain cleaners.

Have you tried using a good old fashioned plunger on it? My bathtub drain at home gets slow about every six months from hair accumulation in the trap. The plunger clears it every time.

We had the same problem, but the hair [big glob]was hanging from and under the cross bars. Took my time 1 hair at a time, from the trap and from the top.
Shower is worse as there is no trap to find if there is one.
As for where the hair comes from, DW still has hers, but mine is disappearing.

I have found that a product called "Zip Strip" which is a tough plastic strip with teeth works amazingly well well for removing hair from my lavatory and shower drain.

It's available at Home Depot and Lowes for about $3 or $4.
