I've got a 98 Jayco Lite Hawk with floor problems. The lino is discolored and I suspect damage underneath as well. Weird since it's stored inside.
Anyhoo, I have to cut and paste since the floor is installed before everything else. Any advice on replacement of damaged flooring? New lino does not seem an option. What about "pergo" type flooring, lino tiles, carpeting? Should I take it to an rv dealer/service and leave it up to them? There are as you would guess multiple cuts and measurements. I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks in advance. |

I was going to have my motorhome done by a regular flooring guy. There are also some companies that only do rv's.

Hamelin,
If the flooring is discolored, that means the underlayment has been getting wet. Probably means some plywood or whatever Jayco used needs to be looked at. I would find cause of damage before replacing anything on the floor though. Ed Ed and Diane Van Cleave 2008 Excel E33TKE 2008 K3500 Silverado D/A DRW B&W Companion |

Hi !As suggested before find out cause of water damage & correct. You can do it yourself if enen a little bit handy. We redid our other RV floor. We didn't have to repair the floor but what we did do was paint the floor. After a couple of coats of good primer we made a checker board design by tapeing it off. Then painted with paint made for floors.Did 2 coats then put about 10 coats of quick drying non yellowing varnish.Made to be put ontop of paint & for use on the floor. It turned out BEAUTIFUL.Everyone thought it was tile.We made the squares 16x16.Very nice & not costly at all.A little time to do.Good Luck!
