Jess Here are a couple of pictures of a loader I picked up yesterday. I think this is the way to go. I will be adding two supports from the frame of the trailer out to the loader. This will make the unit very solid. This design is very simple and the weight is only 250 lbs. It take a commercial jack to lift up and a pin secures it. When I finish the install I will shoot a few close up shots.
I had each axle weighed on the fiver. They are 10k Dextor, the weight on the front is 5k and the rear is 6k so I have a bunch to work with.

David Are you just putting a 2" receiver hitch on the back of your camper? I looked under the back and the frame looks easy to put a receiver Does your back bumper pull out with your spare tire and batteries like my 05 mountain aire.
I was going to put one receiver in the center so i can remove the bike rack to check the batteries, ( i was going to put a bicycle rack for 4 bikes)
But something as a 700lb bike are you going to put two receivers so you can remove the bike rack?
PS. if i ever put a smart car on my back deck the Harley will need to move to the back of trailer, i just as soon set the rear of the trailer up for bicycle and quick change to motorbike carrier.. Make Sence?
Dwayne I will actually have three 2 inch receivers holding the bike and loader.I already had a single heavy receiver installed last year for towing the car. The fellow I purchased the loader from said one will do the job and the others are just to stop any side to side motion. My mods to the loader will distribute the weight to the frame rails.
My tire pulls out just like yours. The loader will come off the back by pulling three pins and then rolling it away. This will remain the same.
The nice thing about this unit it is only weighs in at about 250 lbs. It is built pretty strong and will be very solid when all three receivers are in place.
I will get some shots when the project is complete and will be done for the Rally. Got to have all my toys

I will have my cart and harley for the rally but i am looking for a smart now, I think i am going to put the smart car rack with two airbags but leave the bike rack on the flat deck so ( stay with me) when the smart car rack is loaded the rack will sit over the bike rack, then have the smart car rack fold inwards( the part that's over the bike rack) when the smart car isn't with us. If i put a bike rack on the back like yours i could carry one bike and car. or take car off and carry 2 bikes one on the back deck and one on back of trailer for Sturges 2008 trip. ( i need the smart car in here so i can make better plans, i also do all my own welding. I can't wait to set how you set yours up when we cet to the rally, i would like to take some pictures also if you don't mind.
Let's see what can i put on the camping rig? 1-smart car or golf cart 4-bicycles 1-Harley or 2-Harleys 1-14'boat on top of KW 1-side box w/BBQ pit w/dual burners 1- I know i must be missing something(thinking)
David They are looking for dealers on the bike rack you could sale some for them LOL.
Looks like a good solid set up. I've seen a few similar ones on the road, and wondered how well they were anchored. Just don't forget it's back there the first time you back into a tight spot... Jess
David I am asuming you are putting a receiver coming out on the inside of each beam and one in the center with the normal cross tie bars at the back of the receivers. (same as under the back of our pickup truck but, having 3)
I don't know if I have enough time to get it done but I bought a camera to mount back there and watch over everything. Just need to get it all done.
Yes on the three receivers, one at each frame rail and the one in the middle. I think after I finish beefing up the mounting system it will be a great setup. With this setup I can still get to the tire and battery. Just need to drop the bike off, pull the loader off and pull out the drawer. A little work but the fiver will stay in tact. I could always mount the tire up on the truck somewhere to have it out.
