Kinda quiet over here in the HDT area, so though I would post a few pictures of my HDT bed as of yesterday.
It finally warmed up enough to paint outside last week (high 70's and 80's) so I took a few days off work to do the prep and painting on my truck bed.
Getting very close now. Just need to add a bit more bling bling on the back, install the rubber on the bed and put the Rampage motorcycle lift for the Harley in place. The space between the right tank and the lower box will be filled with a swing out box to hold my generator. That way I will be able to get under the truck if necessary.
Been a long haul, as my shop is my driveway. I am not an expert by any means, but it is turning out just as I had hoped. It is a lot of work, but very satisfying to do it all yourself.
Also saves a bunch of $$$!!
Should finish it up in a few weeks, then on to the Alfa for similiar paint treatment.
Cheers,
Bob

Tom,
I made a square tube "T" type bracket. Moved the bottom step out to the outer hole, reinforced it with an angle underneeth, and bolted the "T" bracked into that. (Welded a stud on the bottom to go thru the hole)
Then bolted the intermediate step onto the bracket, using extra aluminum from the back frame that I removed.
This will move the bottom step out about two inches, which still keeps the steps narrower than the mirrors. When bolting the middle step on, use a straight edge for from the top to bottom step for a correct angle. Also center the step.
I have bad legs and back, and it works awesome for me, as well as the wife.
Really an easy do, just had to scratch my head for a few days to come up with the idea.
Cheers,
Bob
