The hardest part of full-timing for me is figuring out where to go next and how to see EVERYTHING that I want to see in the next 20? years or whatever I have left on earth to travel. It gets SO overwhelming! 1001 Places to See Before You Die, Great Hiking Trails of America, Best Fishing Spots In America, Best RV Trips . . . maybe I'm reading too much??? I find that I drive too far, too fast and wish I'd stopped along the way. I plan to put a stop to that when I crawl behind the wheel in October. When I look at how far I've traveled in the past 18 months - from Colorado to Key West, back to Colorado, to Alaska and now back in Colorado - it amazes me. It makes a trip to the northeast look like a piece of cake!! I cannot stand heat and humidity - so that affects where and when I go to certain areas. And then there are those wonderful tornadoes . . . never know where they're going to pop up. I'm thinking pacific northwest or Alaska in the summer - and the southwest or southeast in the winter. So when is the best time to do the northeast? I'd really like a Main lobster! LOL!! How did all of you make a plan - how do you travel? Do you migrate from one spot to another back and forth? Or do you travel all over the country? May sound silly, but it truly is OVERWHELMING!! Wish I'd started this at a MUCH YOUNGER AGE!! Thanks!

Believe it or not, the internet can be your best friend and it's really as simple in a lot of instances as just using google.com and typing in what you're wondering.
I can tell you some hilarious stories, but try it for yourself....

I'd say it's indeed possible to google "best times to visit maine and eat lobster" and have an abundance of queries to read...

Search a town name and state and read about it, even visit weather.com and read about their "average" weather if you have an idea of a place to visit...

Our members will be a valuable resource, as there's nothing like "seat of the pants" commentary to read....

I just wanted to give you some ideas to look for on your own, as you await the thoughts of others...

First off, whomever in your family (you?) is/was in the U.S. Marines, thank you for their service to our country.

I wish I had your problem . Bob certainly gave some good advice...it is amazing what you can find doing a Google search. If I were you, I'd take my time and explore those parts of the country that interest you most..have the things going on that you love to do. Sounds like you have a basic plan to avoid weather extremes. I'd take my time and try to enjoy wherever I am at the time.

Most importantly, travel safely and enjoy every mile.

Your post caused me to sit back and think. Life it self is a journey. Each day is a precious gift to be savored and enjoyed to it's fullest I have found myself getting caught up in this fast paced world and not taking the time to smell the roses. I think it is time for me to prioritize each day to fully appreciate the gift.

We aren't full timers but we are trying to see as much of this great Country as we can. We are dividing the USA into pieces and and are planning our trips around a few states at a time. We try and see the big attractions as we go. This trip is NV, ID, MT, Alberta, British Columbia, OR and WA. We can't see everything but try and see as much as we can.
