We are thinking of trying the gulf coast this winter, rather than FL. In trying to research the weather I am seeing average daily temp of around 50. I take that to mean 60's in the day time and getting cooler at night. True? What kind of temps can I expect?
I am assuming that the Katrina-affected areas have been mostly put back together by now and we should be fine if we avoid New Orleans itself. True? thanks, John ::==;==( ) A banjo will get you through a time of no money much better than money will get you through a time of no banjo. ................... 05 Winnebago Adventurer 37B |

It can get pretty cold occasionnally. I very seldom stays below freezing all day. My camper stays hooked up except when it goes below freezing and I just disc the wh and run the propane heater on its lowest setting at nite.

GULF COAST!!! That is a big area!!!
The Winter Texans go to the Valley, not as humid as FL., and they come back year after year, so they must like it. Happy Trails, Penny Rving, and fixing them since 1968 Don't Drink and Drive, EVER!! I loved my dog, he was not motivated by money. |

Where are you talking about on the gulf coast???
Here in the Valley, a cool day is about 72 or so. We sometimes get to 50-52 at night. Depends on where you are. When I wintered in Louisiana, it got a lot cooler. 30-40 nights and 50-60 days. Bubba 2001 40' Beaver Thunder 07 Chevy Silverado 1500 |

Do you think it is also fair to say that those CG which are re-opened are pretty much filled with folks living there full time? When we last passed through on I-10, the ones we saw from the road looked pretty full. ED Newmar 2003 KSCA 3740 W-22 WB242". You can find vacancies, but most parks still have lots of FEMA trailers in them. |
