We stayed in the "Public" area of a Thousand Trails RV campground near Yosemite. Since I was not a member, I didn't expect any extras. All I wanted to do was to check out their facility and see the local sights. The site they had for us in the public area was adequate (30'X 15'). My complaint started with the lack of a trash can. I was told by an employee that they had trash containers in the "member" area and down the road near the admin office. He went on to explain their problems with the local garbage company. Since I paid to be there, I could care less about their problems.
Next, and not the fault of Thousand Trails, was the noise. The people at this campground made noise until almost midnight. Then they started making a racket at 7AM. No regard for the "quiet hours rule." From kids screaming and banging on the metal playground slide after 10PM to the guy in the site next to us yelling at his kids at 11:45PM, we did not get much sleep after a long day of sightseeing. I guess we are among the few left that respect others right to peace and quiet.

You were a lot more patient than I would have been. I would have been knocking on the door of the manager/host and asking them to intervene. Frown

I stayed at a Passport America park in Feb and it was just about as bad. I was glad to pull out the next morning and swore never to stay there again.
