A good start is to go to this official Texas site
http://www.traveltex.com/ and request the FREE Texas Travel Guide. There are thousands of places and only you know what might interest you. The guide will show you many options. Have Fun! We had heard that Big Bend National Park was great. After reading about it on TravelTex it sounds like it's not too pet friendly. Anybody have any information?

Big Bend NP is one of the few places we have'nt been, so I cant answer the pet friendly question for there. Even us Native Texans cant get everywhere in Texas but we do spend a lifetime trying. Yes Murphy is in the picture. She is sitting in her rocking chair in the fiver in that photo. All the state parks we have been to are pet friendly as long as you keep all pets on leashes and pick up after them. They are not allowed inside the buildings however.

A must see is the Texas Hill country. Roughly west of San Antonio and Austin. While San Antonio and Austin are great cities towns like Fredricksburg, Johnson City, New Braunfels, Boerne and Kerrville still have a real Texas feel. Great roads and camp grounds and beautiful scenery.

I can't vouch for what is or is not pet friendly but we always enjoy the Big Bend/Alpine/Fort Davis area. It has been a while but the Big Bend Motor Inn and RV Park was a nice place to stay and is just out the western edge of Big Bend National park. HERE are a couple of pictures from one of our trips there.

Hi Duffy's Mom -
Madame Boomer here with a big welcome to our fair State. We offer so much to see and do in any area you'll be in. From desert to the prairie, mountains (and a few molehills too)to the gulf, piney woods to hill country and everything in between. If you'll let us some of your interests, I'm sure there's enough of us on this forum who can give you suggestions. Sandy |
