I have attended 2 Escapee rallies and 1 Newmar rally that was held at fairgrounds.

Goshen Indiana
Van Wert Ohio
Du Quoin Illinois

All three of these places have either full hookup areas or water/electric with dump sites.

Just left Du Quoin IL after attending the Newmar rally and we had a beautiful site over looking a lake so we stayed a couple of extra days at $15.00/night.

Do any of you look for RV parking at fairgrounds?

I just received a booklet I ordered from Gypsy Journal that list 299 fairgrounds with RV sites. Some are very cheap or free and many with full hookups.

I will probably try some out when they are close by.

We've stayed extra nites at the Georgia National FG and Agricenter after rallies. Nice place, full hook-ups. Great hospitality on the part of the mid-Georgia folks. Thumbs Up

Frank, according to the info I have, this place is for rallies and caravans only. What a shame. They could get extra money from people traveling from up north to Florida and back on I-75.

We've enjoyed staying at the Napa County Fairgrounds, in Calistoga California. It's a short walk (five blocks?) to the main strip in town. Considering it's at the North end of the Napa Valley and a fun and right in the middle of a very walkable and interesting little town, it's a great find.

There are 30 and 50 amp full hookup sites, and some 30 amp sites with W&E only. There's a (small) shower house and a dump station. The sites are gravel paved but pretty level, and pretty spacious. There are some big trees around the outside, with back-in spaces, and pull-throughs with no shade in the middle. No tables, firerings or grills. There's a golf course on the fairgrounds, right next to the RV park.

There's almost always availability, and we can visit for just an overnight as a quick wine country getaway.
