one of the best retirement gifts we received was a Vu Cube. I took it out of the box this morning to get it ready to use on our summer trip and I'm here to tell ya this thing is so easy to set up and use that I'm sure my 6 year old grandson could do it. It took longer to change the direct TV settings than it did to find the signal and watch TV. Follow the three simple directions , point it south, set the elevation from the chart and turn it with the remote left or right for the best signal and watch TV.

I'm delighted to hear that they work well. I use a portable Winnegard dish when trees obstruct my dome. It's a pain to set up so I was wondering if the VuCube was a viable option. Sounds like it is.

Think I'll wait a year or so and see if the prices go down, as they are expensive.

I've seen some at camp grounds but why are they better for campgrounds with thick trees?

Excerpt (notations) from setup instructions:

The receiving antenna (VU CUBE) must have a clear view, without obstruction, of the southern sky.

What instructions does it have for "not walking away" at 2:00am?

It is better because you can move it around to find an opening in the trees and because of its easy setup.
