No, I just enjoy documenting little projects that enhance the RVing experience so others can add them to their rigs as well. I guess just being a "techie" at heart tends to make me aways looking for accessories that make things better. AL, The link below takes you to the RVupgrades site where they have all the systems listed. From there you can select whichever configuration you like. They range from $195 to $600 bucks. The $195 system is by far the most popular and it's the one I installed in my Winnebago previously. Here is the link to that installation for comparasion. Well, I got my SeeLevel 709 installed today. Overall not too bad a job. Some of the Allegro Bus wiring leaves a lot to be desired, as there is not too much consistency in color identification. I chose to put my SeeLevel readout panel inside at the same location where all the idiot lights were located. Just a matter of removing the Tiffin LED circuit board and cutting a hole in the panel to remove all their little holes. Since we boondock a lot I wanted to add the option to see engine battery voltage as well as house battery on the control panel. That proved more difficult than I thought, as the only source of chassis voltage I could find was in the DC distribution center below the drivers feet. When I got it up to the overhead, I ran the power for the See Level panel through a SPDT switch so when I check BATT I can see either set of batteries.
I chose to also put a monitor panel in the wet bay so I could see tank levels when filling and dumping. Easay install since most wiring starts there anyway. I particularly liked the single wire connection for the system. I actually had 2 unused wires I tied off after I was done. Thanks for your insights Joe. Your write up was a great confidence builder. Tiffin has GOT to put this kind of a system in their new coaches. I can't believe a coach of this quality has the probe system on it. A major disconnect there somewhere. Very complete job, Joe. You certainly have the knack for explaining things in a simple, concise manner.
I have the 709 system in my travel Supreme and just love it's accuracy. When I took delivery of my rig I complained that the stock monitoring system was inaccurate, so they promptly put this See Level system in at no charge. Now I'm wondering if I helped contribute to their demise....they were so good about doing those types of things. I would be lost without this system and recommend it to all. Thanks for the comment.
You're right about the SeeLevel should be a stock system. I think a couple manufacturers are evaluating it, but they just need owners to push them to making it a standard OEM item. If you think about the warranty issues related to the other monitor systems, I'm sure they'd save money installing it as OEM equipment. My 709PH CKT BRD Began to act up 6 months after installation. A quick phone call on a Thursday to Garnett Ind. Got a replacement board delivered to my door by the following Monday. Great customer service. Both during installation and now.

I installed the SeeLevel unit in my Allegro 3 years ago. Has worked very well since. The only problem I had when I installed it was that my belly got in the way. The fresh water tank on my coach is a little hard to get at.

just called SL to inquire why my 709 system was receiving mixed readings when I depressed the various buttons ie push fresh and get LP. I spoke with Cary and he said that the wafer switches below the buttons most likely came unglued. He is shipping a replacement control panel out today and it should be here within 3 days. The system is almost 2 years old. He didn't even ask for any info on date or place of purchase. He immediately said a replacement is on its way and asked that I return the original panel in the replacement shipping box. I wish ALL companies were that responsive in their customer support and warranty coverage.
