I have read all the post on franks,and hughs.Does anybody have info on the powermaster voltage booster with surge guard built in?

I can't find any info about the Powermaster Booster product. Is there a web site and a source to get one?

I found a place to by the powermaster its called rv parts outlet.I did not get mine yet i am waiting to hear from the bbb about the comp. who makes them.If i do not hear from them by monday i am going to give them a call.I did call the powermaster comp.and talked to them for quite sometime, nice people but just because because your nice it does not mean you sell a good item.Well when i hear i will let you all know.If you learn anything more about it let me know. THANKS

I would have one reservation about the Powermaster: it says it has a "park power diagnostic light" but doesn't say what power conditions it monitors for, if any. A voltage booster and surge protector is all well and good, but in my opinion any such device should also incorporate power monitoring for conditions such as Open Ground,, Reversed hot/neutral, Reversed ground/neutral, Voltage on the ground, etc. If you are going to spend big bucks on this sort of device, it ought to have complete protection.

I'm not saying the Powermaster doesn't do these things, but I would want to have it confirmed before I bought one. Seems odd their website (rvperfromanceproducts.com) does not include this info in the description.

You are right it does not have these items you listed.They told me that when i called them,like i said they were very helpful about there powermaster.He even told me to contact a nother company about the things you talked about to add to there box.Its like 6 of one 1/2 dozen of another(what ever that means).If you buy the hughs or franks you still need a surge protecter.I found the powermaster for 299 at rvparts outlet,i cant find franks or hughs for that much,so if i buy the powermaster and the item you talked about i should be covered for just about anything.You Think? I found the name of the other comp. they told me to talk to its called EMS.

Frankly, I'd rather have the power line monitoring function than the voltage boost function. If I could have only 2 of the 3 functions in a box, I'd take power line monitoring and surge protection and leave off the voltage booster. Just my opinion, of course. If you frequent campgrounds with very low voltage, you priorities might be different.

I would not hook up without both a SurgeGuard which detects a variety of bad wiring conditions and provides much better surge protection than the voltage boosters and a AutoFormer of some sorts. With the rolling brownouts that occur throughout the day I had lost too much equipment due to low voltage to go without the AutoFormer. I have even considered adding one (AutoFormer) to some key circuits in my stick home since it has worked out so well in the RV.

We used a Hughes Auto-former and a plug type surge protector with our old FW. Just bought a 30amp Hughes Auto-former and plug in tester to use with the new class C.
I always plug in the tester then the Hughes plugs into that. I can't say that the protection is perfect but so far no issues with this system.
The Hughes Auto former does have surge suppression built in, but must be returned to the factory for resetting, according to their literature.
