I leave mine plugged in all the time. All I have to do is mash the button to check the tires. Takes almost 30 seconds from start to finish if I really take my time. Sure beats fumbling with valve stem covers and air pressure gages every day.

Well I just got back from a 6 week 4200 mi trip with the new Doran 360 I purchased before leaving. Easy to install and program and the display is easy to read. It worked flawlessly, even pointing out that one of the tires was down a few pounds of pressure every few days. Probably due to one of the new metal valve stems I had installed. Each travel day the wife would scroll thru the display and check the pressures, sure beats crawling around on the dirt! On the final day of the trip 250 miles from home we got a red warning display and loud buzzer. Tire pressure was going down fast on the front passenger side TT tire. Thought I had heard something but no other indicators of trouble. Got it stopped and sure enough, the tire was history, inner sidewall blown (just FYI, it wasn't the leaky tire). No damage to the rim or trailer. Unit wasn't cheap, but I think it went a long way in paying for itself.

I've contemplated buying a tire monitoring system, so I looked up the price of the Doran 360 ten tire system at RV Upgrades. Call me cheap, but $700 seems a little steep to me.

Craig,
The PP is insurance. From a business case view, it is only worth it if you need it. The PP system has saved me two times in three years. Both times on a rear toad tire (not the same tire). If the tire had been allowed to go flat who knows how much the damage would have been. The system also provides peace of mind, being able to check the tires with the push of a button. For me, I'm $s ahead for having the system. You're 100% right Gary. I just wish they were a little more affordable, considering the present economy. There are so many things I can do with $700.
A friend of mine has the Advantage PressurePro and gets frequent false low pressure warnings. The Doran sounds like a more reliable unit. The Doran system may very well turn out to be a great one, but it's new and doesn't have much history yet.
"Frequent false alarms" with the Pressure Pro system is not normal and your friend is the first one I have heard of with the problem. He should send it in and get it repaired. Follow up:
I purchased and installed the RV360 system and we've put about 400 miles on it so far. We love it. I chose not to get the repeater initially and it seems that I won't need it. I used a hardwired application and mounted the display on the dash with the wire running through dash for a clean install. Be patient when trying to install the external sensors. It takes time to get everything lined up without cross threading. Thanks for the info Rick. I plan on purchasing the RV360 myself. Any photos of your install?

Afraid I don't have any photos uploaded but it's nothing fancy. The display comes with several mounting options and I chose the one which was flat on the back and could be mounted onto an available flat space on the dash. I just drilled a single hole to run the power cord through and then used two self tapping screws along with the hook and loop tape to secure it to the dash.
I put about 300 miles on the coach today and learned that I need to reprogram the PSI for the toad tires. I programmed in 30 rather than the 33 they ultimately required. I thought this would be close enough but as the tires heated up and the PSI increased... I got several "high pressure" alerts. This is a setting which can be turned off but I like it because it might give an early warning on other problems. I'll just reprogram the unit before I hit the road again in two days. Cheers...
