RV Today to Air Extreme Makeover Event Highlights

ELKHART, Ind. - The power tools have been put away and the crew has rested their tired bodies, but RV Rescue is still going strong. In fact, two episodes highlighting the extreme makeover event sponsored by Dometic® Corporation will soon air on RVtoday on the Outdoor Life Network. The two-part series will run June 11-18 and June 25-July 1, showing the refurbishing of the Tarconish family’s 1984 Winnebago Chieftain that took place April 7 to 10 at Daytona International Speedway during The Rally—one of the largest RV rallies in the country.

“The event went well and the Tarconishes were astonished by the result,” said Melody Rose, RV Rescue designer. “There was a large crowd of Rally goers who watched our every move during the event and a few even helped out with projects. Now those who couldn’t make it to The Rally will be able to see the process for themselves.”

The crew worked 75 straight hours to complete the overhaul of the 22-year-old motorhome. They did everything from adding a slideout to relocating the shower, fabricating an outdoor grill platform to wrapping the exterior with new graphics. RVtoday will show the steps that took an out-dated motorhome and turned it into an extreme tailgating machine.

“We had a great team of sponsors who worked together and made this whole thing possible,” said Brad Sargent, vice president of marketing for Dometic. “Our hope is to inspire RVers to make changes to their own units—making them more personal and enjoyable. With RV Rescue we went to the extreme of what can be done and the result was a great one, but we are hoping to show RVers that even a few smaller changes can make a big improvement.”

Any idea where I might get or see the video of this makeover? It seems all sites associated with it are no longer up, and all I can find are some flicker photo's but I would really love to see the program (not on their website either).

I am half way through gutting a similar RV and could really use some ideas and tips
