Anybody know what the approximate hitch weight for a 2004 Carriage CW382 would be?

Thanks,

you might try contacting Carriage thru their web site. also, check their website for a local dealer and contact the dealer. a dealer may have some older literature available.

If you can find the trailers GVWR you can safely use 20% of that number for the pin weight calculation.

Also, there should be a sticker with the weights printed on it in one of the cabinets

Ball hitch trailers normally have a minimum of 10% and a maximum of 15% tongue weight, 12% is the target.

Ray,

does tongue weight on a TT work the same way as pin weight on a 5er? 12% of the GVWR of TT, subtarcted from the payload of the pu towing it? Thanks Mark

Hitch weight works the same as pin weight on a 5er. The hitch weight becomes part of what the truck is hauling and is part of the GVW of the truck or subtracted rfom the payload of the truck.
