hello to everyone. this is my first post. I have enjoyed all the information. I will be going to florida this December. We have a 2000 excursion with v10 pulling a 28 ft sandpiper tt. truck is all stock. the longest trip we have been on is about 150 miles. is there anything I need to do to the truck before the trip. truck has 110000 miles on it. All stock pull with w/d hitch and anti sway bar. have never had a problem but this trip will be about 1000 miles each way, any advice would be great. thanks for all the information. vholt

I also tow with a 2000 Excursion, but diesel. It tows my 30" Mobile Scout great. Keep tires pressures up on both X and trailer. Don't forget to check pressures in spares (just in case). Have a great trip.

Welcome to the site. Don't think you'll have any problems. My Son in Law has 2000 with a V-10.

When I'm over at Fort Wilderness, at Disney, I see more Excursions pulling TT's than anything else. They come from all over the country.

Have a good trip down.

Have you performed front and rear differential service lately? Also check to see if they need differnt weight fluid for towing. Just perfom all normal services, tranny, diffs, power steering, radiator, A/C, and anything else you can think of.
You don't want any of htese things to let you down on the trip. Make sure you air up all the tires including the spare and trailer.
