OK, I have hydraulic brakes on my 1971 Bethany Citation 86 Pop Up Camper but that’s all I know about them. The previous owner didn’t mention them and I assumed that the trailer didn’t even have brakes. My questions are: How do I know if they are surge or just breakaway type? How do you test each kind? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or information.

OK, I found the answer to one, I have surge brakes but still need to know how to maintain, adjust and test them. Surge-O-Matic brand.

Mine has a lot of movement up and down as well as the back and forth movement needed to actuate the brakes. I tightened it up, but there are springs on the bolts and I'm not sure how tight they should be. 1976 Myself and Wife 1999 Daughter 2001 Son 2009 ?????? 1995 Chevy Z71 2000 Chevy Astro 1980 Minnie Winnie 1975 Bethany Citation 86 |
