Hi,
I'm new to the forum having just found it yesterday. I'm picking up a used Coleman Sun Valley on Sat. I had a hitch installed today at U-Haul. Looks like a good install except for the wiring. I found a previous thread about wiring a non factory trailer hookup and it is helping a great deal, espically Phil-L's posts. My question to you folks is the wiring location at the back of the van? I found the brake controller plug but do the wires actually go to the rear and if so where do I find them?

Thanks,
Keith

Welcome to irv2.com, Keith! I cannot answer your question, but instead refer you to a trailer wiring website that is vehicle specific.Marks RV wiring page I hope is has the information you seek. Please return and post your results or further inquiry.
My reply will bump your question to the top of this page. Hopefully to be better noticed.

Hello,
New to the site. I too am interested in the wiring of a Windstar. I read somewhere that mid 01 the lights were a little easier to deal with. However both cases needed a Ford module. Is this the case or is there an after market module? Also the my understanding with this module you will only get the 4 lead for a regular trailer harness. What have you windstar owners been doing for the brakes. do you splice the 4-pin into the seven ten splice in the others ans needed?(makes sense, just double checking). Now on to the brakes. What do I need to get and wire the van. I have read the tekonhsa prodigy works well with this van. Is there any splicing into the vehicle harness or is that part all plug in.

Did the factory tow windstar have a different trans. Everything I have seen says only one trans was used. I spoke with a ford parts guy, he said there was normal and one for towing. I thought it was just a cooler the hitch, the leads for the trailer and brakes.

Please anyone who has done a windtstar and has upgraded the ststem, especially 99-01 please contact.

Also, Have these tranny's held out for you all.
